Couples Therapy
Looking for more connection, enhanced communication, better sex, or to get through those "stuck" points in your relationship? Do you feel like you are drifting apart from your partner(s)?
Our couples' therapists here at Resonate Counseling believe that while relationships come in varied forms, there are common factors that play a pivotal role in successful relationships. We believe that these factors can bring you and your partner(s) to a place of deeper understanding of each other's needs, feelings of support, and an overall sense of joy in your relationship. These factors come from attachment styles, love languages, shared value systems, physical and emotional intimacy, trust, and a sense of partnership.
Our therapists can help you enhance these factors by assessing multiple aspects of your relationship:
-
how well you know each other
-
tapping into the friendship within your intimate relationship
-
ways to create an atmosphere of appreciation
-
recognizing and responding to attempts for connection
-
managing conflict
-
sharing in each other's hopes and dreams.
These come from our Level One Gottman training as well as our individual approaches rooted in various modalities including CBT, DBT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Our therapists are equipped to work with typical couples’ issues, but we also have specific areas of interest in our couples’ work:
Christy Green, LGPC: LGBTQ+, polyamorous couples, Ethical Non-Monogamy, and swingers lifestyle
Yuqing (Ophelia) Cen, LCPC: cross-culture and LGBTQ+ populations
Christie Chorbajian, LCMFT: new parents, polyamorous couples, LGBTQ+, infidelity
Christopher Carman, LCPC: complex trauma, addictions or in-recovery, artists, musicians, spiritual couples or couple's with spiritual or religious concerns, polyamory/ENM, couples with kinks.
